High Five band arose from the solo work of Jan Richter, who just left his previous band My First Date in the end of 2007. He then started to write and record the songs about love and things he’d recently been through, heavily influenced by his role-model, Peter Gabriel. Success of his work eventually flew into the formation of a regular band composed of the musicians whom Richter known from previous gigs and projects. The band kept the name of Jan Richter for a couple of shows and then eventually changed their name to High Five. The band had released two single tracks - Our Kingdom and Calling All Heroes - in 2010, followed by their debut EP Dear Anna in the end of 2011 which was released under the label of Česká Muzika and produced by Kuba Alexa (Quite Quiet). High Five also supported the band Boyce Avenue and their music videos air on czech and slovak music TV channels.
